This beautifully constructed wedding box was designed collaboratively with the clients as a place for guests attending the wedding to place gifts to be presented to the happy couple on their magical day, and to also be kept as a wedding keepsake/memory box. The box was constructed to the specific requirements of the client, including the lettering style and specific design features carved. The wedding box included a small reef knot placed on top to reflect the client’s love of the sea. As can be seen American Black Walnut was inlayed into the dovetail joints which created a beautiful contrast against the White Ash. The newly-weds loved these intricate details and this unique way of storing their precious wedding day memories.

A client was planning a trip to Scotland in their VW Transporter and wanted a custom bed made to fit a folding mattress he and his partner already owned. Working with them it was agreed that a sliding bed frame would be made so they could store their travel equipment underneath the bed, whilst also retaining a bit of space down the side of the van when the bed was folded up. Ash was chosen for the project due to it’s light colour and bold grain style. In order to prevent the bed from sliding about in transit high strength magnets were recessed into the underside of each leg, and metal plates fixed to the floor of the van. This approach meant that whilst the bed could be secure when used, it could also be easily removed to enable the client to use the van for their day to day work.

This Hi-Fi unit was designed and produced to fit the clients specific audio equipment, which he had owned and treasured for many years. After discussing his use of the Hi-Fi and discovering that he had two turntables, one which was used regularly and one for special occasions, the unit was designed so that the second deck could be pulled out on a sliding shelf. The shelf runners were hidden so that the sliding shelf appeared to be fixed when not in use. Once pulled out the deck is able to be used without having to unplug or disturb the connections. The unit was made from Beech in order to fit with other furniture the client owned. However, to add a unique feature on the top of the Hi-Fi an in-lay of Black Walnut was placed along the inner edges and the central pieces mitred to create a diamond shape in the centre. All surfaces were sealed and finished in a satin varnish.

This beautiful handmade kitchen required little something extra above the Aga. The customers had plates and ornaments to display so it was suggested that a decorative plate shelf with corbels could serve as an attractive, yet functional feature. Working collaboratively with the client resulted in the production of an eye-catching traditional scroll, with the addition of acorns on the sides.

This interesting piece was made after a client requested a stand for his Ukuele. After discussion and discovering that he was a keen surfer a scale copy of his custom surfboard
was made to hang his Ukulele on. After meticulously measuring his board these measurements were scaled down in order to ensure the finished wooden surfboard was appropriately sized, and more importantly as aesthetically close to the original as possible.

These cases were made to the customers specification in order to safely store and display their collection of pistols. The cases were handmade using Sapele and Oak, and not only looked beautiful when displayed but also meant their collections were safe when stored away. To prevent any damage to both the guns and display cases, felt linings were applied inside which also improved the overall asthetics. The cases were then sealed several coats of beeswax applied for a smooth finish.

This is an attractive coffee table with multiple functions. Not only can it be used to hold and place items on/in, but it also can be used for games of chess or drafts. European Oak was used for the main construction and Black Walnut works perfectly as a contrast to this. Functional and beautiful!

This plaque was made as a surprise and gift for new owners of a new CrossFit Gym in Ramsgate. It was designed and painted to match their logo. As a result another client asked whether I could produce a plaque for their CrossFit Gym too.

These European Oak doors, linings and architraves were made for a client. The finished result of 44mm thick internal doors were fantastic, with excellent sound proofing and fitting with the style of the house. The client had requested this particular design but felt the architrave above the door needed an additional feature. As a result Oak Yorkshire Roses were hand-carved, and stained to match each door beautifully.
